ROBBED update 12-26-08

December 26th, 2008

I evidently got mixed information about the location of this person responsible for stealing my stuff from my truck.
I was looking in the wrong section of the trailer park.
The eye-witness told me to look for a blue carport with lattice around it.
I found it……
It appears now, the boy has been seen doing the same thing again.
This time, the Maintenance manager (Wallace) at the trailer park discovered foot prints outside in the snow and ice the other night.
He said he tracked them and noticed the tracks led to several other vehicles.
The thief was looking for cars that are already unlocked.
Wallace tracked the footprints to a Trailer at Lot 265 in Elk Creek.
This is the location that was confirmed to be the residence of the person that SHOWED the gun to another local trailer park resident.

Although the insurance company has already paid off the claim, I still want to see this person apprehended and prosecuted.

Robbed

December 8th, 2008

Have ya ever been robbed?
Or Burglarized?
There’s just something wrong about that.
It leaves you with a feeling of being violated…Personally….
What gives someone the right to enter your property?? (In this case, My truck)
They were not invited, there wasn’t an “open” sign. It’s just my remote door lock failed to lock the door one night and some jerk discovered it….
Makes you want to just leave the doors open next time and sit and hide to catch them in the act.
Among the stolen items were:

Magellan GPS Explorist XL Serial Number:  0121230017238

Beretta-950
BS  25 Semi-auto Pistol
Serial # BER 21459V

Sears Craftsman Tool Kit (200 or so pieces in Plastic Hard case 10”x12” or so
with lift out internal tray.)

1 pair Leather
Biker Chaps (XXL)
1 (XXL) Insulated Leather coat (not a typical biker jacket. More of a dress
coat)

Well, Saturday night, I had a message on my voicemail telling me to call a friend of mine ASAP.
When I called, he said he knew a young man that knew who had my gun.
I talked to the young man and he said he has actually SEEN the gun and they 18 year old jerk that stole it ADMITTED to him he got it from my truck….
Well, I immediately went to the Police station to report this information.

Well, here is a lesson on how the Police department works…
when I arrived there, (it was going on 6 PM.) the doors were locked.
You have to go into this locked area (BARELY heated) to use a black security phone.
Now, Behind the glass across from the phone, sits all the 911 dispatchers.
This is where your phone call goes to from that security phone.
I could see movement in there.
This Male Subject (sounds like cop talk huh??) comes on the phone and asks what he can do for me.
I told him that I had filed a theft report last Saturday (Nov, 29) and that I had new information about one of the stolen items. A Firearm.
I said “Officer Leavell took the report.
He said… “she’s off this weekend, you’ll need to come back monday”.
I said IT’S A GUN… I KNOW WHO HAS IT.
So, he proceeded to let me know that an officer would meet me there…
I said “WHERE… HERE???” he said YES.. Right where you are….
I guess in less than 10 minutes, an officer showed up.
Nice guy. Took all these details about—-WHO told me about the gun, who HAS the gun, where they live, where I lived, etc…
Just so he could give that same info to the girl that was OFF ALL WEEKEND….
WHAT WAS THE POINT????

What has to happen???
Does the criminal have to come to the police station, confess to the crime, sign all the papers and provide ALL the evidence???
It’s as if NOTHING is important at all unless it is happening RIGHT NOW THIS MINUTE….

Do detectives get involved in ANYTHING any more?
I guess since it was a weekend, it would have been WAY too much trouble to call the county attorney with this information, get a warrant and search the trailer where this boy lives.
So, ATTENTION ALL CRIMINALS…
If you want to get caught, Commit the crime ONLY during working hours….

UPDATE: 12-12-08

Called City police on Thursday and talked to a detective.

He had not heard anything about the theft. He said the patrol officer that took the report was probably handling it.

Then I informed  him I had came in last saturday to report that we KNEW who had it and there was a witness.

He took all the info and then said SOMEONE would call me back and it might be late that afternoon or evening and may be the original officer.

NEVER HEARD BACK….

Today, 12-12-08, I called the ATF…

Got a call back from them saying they only handle commercial thefts from gun dealers, etc. or Class 3 thefts.

She said the LOCAL police that took the report would have to work this…

This is ridiculous..
